Stepping Stones International benefits from the generosity of many individuals across the world and locally. Without the support of our donors and the community we simply could not continue to do the work we do.

There are many different ways you can help make a difference in the lives of our youth participants and in the families and communities:

  • Make a monetary donation
  • Make an in kind donation
  • Volunteer at our centre
  • Hire one of our youth interns
  • Spread the word about Stepping Stones

There are many ways to make meaningful donations in support of our youth and programs. If you are considering making a donation, we thank you for your generosity. Every donation helps us sustain and expand our work to empower and protect Batswana youth. Your donation will truly help make a profound difference in their lives.

Stepping Stones International provides three easy ways to make donations:

1. Donate online through JUST GIVE (CLICK HERE) >

3. Donate by bank transfer/direct wire. (Contact us for our bank details)

One-time donations are a wonderful way to celebrate a friend’s birthday, a milestone or holiday, and monthly donation are a good way to help us to provide meals and other services to the youth on a monthly basis.

Here are some examples of what your gift can do:

$25 – A new school uniform

$50 – One month’s safe transportation for a youth participant

$100 – One month of physiological counseling for a youth participant

Our Charitable Registration number in Botswana is CO2006/6619. Donations are Tax-deductible 501 ( c)3 in United States. Stepping Stones International issues tax receipts for donations of $20 or more.

In-Kind Donation
Stepping Stones International graciously accepts inkind donations that support our youth and the operations of our centre and our programs. Due to the costs associated with shipping goods internationally, we only accept in-kind donations locally. We are always in need of the following items:

  • Donate nutritious food
  • Art materials
  • Schools supplies
  • Telecommunications airtime
  • Fuel subsidies

% breakdown of where donations go
Stepping Stones International believes that transparency and accountability are essential. We work hard to ensure that every dollar is stretched and accounted for.

We manage funds from various donors including governments, foundations, corporations and individuals and secure the services of a third party audit firm to conduct an annual audit, which is funded by donors for reporting purposes. As such, SSI complies with both International Accounting standards as well as the statutory requirements in Botswana.

Please read our volunteer section for details on how you can help and any other queries you might have about volunteering at SSI.

Hire an Intern.

Part of Stepping Stones International’s mission is to create realizable opportunities for our youth to become self-sufficient. One of the ways we do this is to contact local organizations and provide an avenue for our youth to apply the skills we impart on them in the real world.

If your company is able to take on one of our youth and offer them real world training, please contact us. Our partnership with Frensche Corporation is an example of a successful internship program where our youth are exposed to the IT industry. We are looking to grow our programs to other industries and give our youth an opportunity to be linked with opportunities that match their skills and interests.

Spread the word about SSI.

You do not have to donate or volunteer to help us. Spread our goodwill and tell your friends, family and colleagues about the work we do. Take time to follow us on social media and share our work with your friends.
